- ✓Makkum: kite zone October-April only, at the north-west tip of the beach; not across the Makkum-Kornwerderzand fairway. kitesurfvereniging.nl
- ✓Medemblik: kiting April-September in the yellow-buoyed zone; banned 1 Oct-31 Mar. Kiting at nearby Andijk is banned. kitesurfvereniging.nl
- ✓Mirns: kite zone all year inside the yellow buoys; never into the Mokkebank bird reserve west of it. kitesurfvereniging.nl
- ✓Stavoren: kiting all year, launch only outside the swim zone; May-November swim buoys with red/white posts. kitesurfvereniging.nl
- ✓Workum: stay inside the yellow buoys, no kites in the swim zone, keep 60 m from shore. kitesurfvereniging.nl
- iRijkswaterstaat is still deciding if wingfoiling counts as kiting or windsurfing under shipping and Natura 2000 rules. Kitefoiling only where kiting is allowed. pas.commissiemer.nl
