✗May 10 - Sep 20: no kitesurfing within 200 m of the shore, except inside the buoyed kite zones at Podersdorf, Neusiedl Seebad, Breitenbrunn Seebad and Purbach bay. ris.bka.gv.at
✗Illmitz and Weiden have no kite zone: May 10 - Sep 20 no kiting from their shores (200 m rule). ris.bka.gv.at
✗Weiden Seebad: May 1 - Sep 30 no boards or craft of any kind in the bathing area (boat rental to lake restaurant), up to 100 m out. ris.bka.gv.at
✗Illmitz borders the Neusiedler See-Seewinkel national park: its nature zones (e.g. Sandeck-Neudegg) may not be entered. burgenland.at
✓Podersdorf has an official kite zone marked by 20 yellow buoys; swimming is banned inside it. ris.bka.gv.at
iThe FKN kite club leases the kite spot, so you need a day or yearly membership. Entry and parking cost money from May to September. Surfers may not use the fenced swimming area. kitenbrunn.at
iThe kite rule names kitesurfing only; wings and windsurfers are not covered, but keep clear of bathers and the reed belt. ris.bka.gv.at

Known 'Westcoast' spot. It is best in south wind, while NW wind is gusty but gives flat water. Light-wind days made it popular for foiling and wing. Local surf school.
